After obtaining intel that the Alliance had employed specially-trained N7 operatives from the ‘Interplanetary Combatives Academy’ to fight both the Reapers and Cerberus, the Illusive Man showed great interest in acquiring some of their anti-Reaper technology in order to further improve his own military’s capabilities. One particular tech that caught his eyes was the latest model of the Monomolecular Blade from one of the Alliance's secret N7 Shadow training camps located in Osaka, Japan.
This base housed two special custom built Chokuto blades, manufactured for the Alliance after huge investments into Earth's best-known company for high grade tech - Ariake Technologies. With those blueprints in hand, the Illusive Man could make Cerberus’ Phantoms even more dangerous, or even spawn new horrors like the troops described in the reports covering Omega's siege. Since this base was smaller, it was much easier for Cerberus to target it. After suffering many casualties at the training camp following a heavy and direct assault from Cerberus forces, only two blademasters remain: Kaira, who kept the Fiery blade tech and Kaminari, who kept the Electrical one.
The two must now protect the precious blueprints from Cerberus at all costs!
